Ihave an IMEI repaired China version Redmi Note 8 Pro with Global ROM. Since my phone has Android 11 running I couldn't use TWRP to root. I tried to root by flashing patched ADB before. I got in a bootloop instead and fixed by flashing old boot.img. I wonder if there's another way to root without losing repaired IMEI.
Firmware(Stock Rom) will be in a tgz file; use 7zip to extract it. Launch Xiaomi Flash Tool, then pick the list of options. Press the phone's volume down and power buttons simultaneously to activate fastboot mode.
